The GRI crew left from Berkeley Marina on July 16th and booked a fishing trip with http://berkeleycharterboats.com/. We chartered a total of three boats, one for salmon and two for bottom fishing (Rock Fish, Ling Cod and Cabazone). There were about 48 George Reed Inc. employees. Table Mountain Exceeds Air Quality Standards

May 27, 2016 | By | No Comments

We installed a Baghouse, Dust Storage Silo, Knockout Box, Burner, and Mineral Return System with a surge and weigh hopper. All of the equipment except the Burner are Stansteel Products. The burner is a Hauck Megastar Burner. The personnel/Contractors that assisted in the installation include GRI Plant Operators, GRI Concrete Crew, Layman Electric, Stansteel, American Crane.

The baghouse supplies air to the asphalt plant and remove exhaust and dust created by the process of drying aggregates and mixing asphalt. The baghouse allows our asphalt plant to exceed EPA and Tuolumne County Air District standards

The equipment allows GRI to be more environmentally aware and energy aware in our asphalt production process. Where before we were wasting 3-5% of all aggregate products, now we have a full recovery system that allows us to recover and refeed that 3-5% as mineral filler product. The equipment has greatly reduced our air born emissions while increasing the quality of our asphalt mix.

Delwyn Falk celebrates 10 years with George Reed this week.  He began in April of 2006 as our Material Sales Representative and has played a key role in our Sales Staff ever since.  Delwyn’s exceptional customer service skills have enabled George Reed to build and maintain strong relationships with its customers.  He has also bridged the gap  between George Reed and its sister companies, serving as a liaison who facilitates vital communication between departments.  We couldn’t be happier to congratulate him on this milestone and look forward to celebrating the next one!

February 9, 2016 | By | One Comment

Randy Questo (Tuolumne Transit Mix) and Brad Burton (Calaveras Transit Mix) were awarded plaques for years of service to GR’s concrete supplier division.

It might come as a surprise to some that George Reed has a concrete (supplier) division!
Both drivers have given the company 25+ great years of dedicated service and are very well thought of in the Calaveras/Tuolumne County construction community.
