Reed hosts MSHA annual refesher

February 19, 2015 | By | No Comments

This week George Reed hosted MSHA Annual Refresher training at the Carseum in the Modesto yard.  Other companies attending included Basic Resources, GCU, 711, and Layman Electric.  The 8 hour annual refresher is requirement of MSHA for operators to provide to their employees.  The training revolves around miner safety and health, best practices, hazards in mining, and recent fatalities.  This year, as in past years, CalOSHA Mining and Tunneling Unit’s state grantee Mark Hirzy led the training with informative videos, PowerPoint presentations, and educational games.  Approximately 110 people received training over the two days.

Turlock irrigation gets bolstered

February 2, 2015 | By | No Comments

This picture is of RSP (rock slope protection) being placed on the slope of the new regulating reservoir being constructed for TID (Turlock Irrigation District).  The reservoir will help regulate/maximize water delivery efficiencies of laterals 7 and 8.

This is the second phase of larger project that was started late last year.  The project is located in Hilmar on the south east side of town and is slated to be completed before the 2015 irrigation season begins.

Reed takes flight in Galt

January 21, 2015 | By | No Comments

We decided to get some aerial footage via a drone on our rehab of Spring Street in Galt, CA. This was quite a unique perspective. The footage provided (ShadowQuad) provides our clients with a look into how we work in scope and scale. Although foggy conditions prevailed, we think this is a preview of good things to come.

 MSHA Inspection at M&P

Yesterday morning Munn & Perkins Plant was having a rough start to the day due to reasons beyond their control.  On top of that, things got more complicated when an inspector from MSHA showed up.  In the midst of off all the chaos the plant personnel continued moving forward and received a clean inspection.  This is the third NO CITATION inspection in a row for the folks at Munn & Perkins.  Their efforts to maintain a safe work environment are very commendable and they have achieved another brilliant inspection.

Keep up the excellent work!

Jackson Valley Quarry is Flawless!

November 18, 2014 | By | No Comments

Jackson Valley Quarry received an MSHA inspection starting yesterday Thursday 11/13 and ending today, Friday 11/14.

NO CITATIONS were issued during this inspection!!!!  As you all know it is very difficult to go through an MSHA inspection without receiving a citation.

The inspector was extremely impressed with the condition of the plant and equally impressed with the positive attitudes of all the miners he spoke to.

This is a great accomplishment for all the troops at JVQ. Congratulations!!!
