GR receives award for Placerville Project
George Reed has received the American Public Works Associations (APWA) Historical Restoration & Preservation award for the “Placerville Main Street Rehab Phase 2 Project”.
The project included a variety of infrastructure improvements including underground utility systems, ADA compliance, asphalt repairs and overlay, sidewalk replacement and landscape features.
Project conditions where difficult due to the downtown location. Accommodating the pedestrians and maintaining accessibility for the local businesses was a must. George Reed worked nights, to accommodate everyone involved.
Working in an old downtown area like Placerville has many challenges and unforeseen conditions. George Reed was able to keep the project on schedule and in budget, and provide cost saving methods that allowed the addition of four decorative cross walks.
